Tetragonosaurus
tet-RAG-oh-no-SORE-us /ˌtɛtˌræɡoʊnoʊˈsɔːrəs/
Synonym of Hypacrosaurus
four-angled lizard
- tetragonos · Greek · four-angled, square
- sauros · Greek · lizard
The name combines the Greek "tetragonos" (four-angled or square) with "sauros" (lizard). It was probably chosen for the squarish shape of the skull. I am not fully certain which skull feature the author meant.

Tetragonosaurus is a lambeosaurine hadrosaur name that is now regarded as a junior synonym. I am not confident which senior genus it belongs to. Hypacrosaurus is my best recollection, and Corythosaurus is another possibility. Check this before relying on it. The year, author, locality and etymology details are also from memory and are uncertain.
