Pamparaptor
pam-pah-RAP-tor /ˌpæmpəˈræptɔːr/
Accepted genus
Pampas thief
- Pampa · Quechua/Spanish · plain, referring to the Pampas region of Argentina
- raptor · Latin · thief, plunderer
The name combines "pampa", a word for the broad plains of southern South America, with the Latin "raptor", meaning thief or plunderer. It is a small predatory theropod from Argentina, and the name presumably refers to the Pampas region. I am not certain of the exact reason the authors chose it.

Described as a small predatory theropod (a dromaeosaurid or unenlagiine) from Argentina. The type species is Pamparaptor micros. I am unsure of the author, year, formation and stage, so I left those fields blank. Please check them against a primary source.
