Accepted genus
Korean horned face
- Korea · English (place name) · Korea, the country where it was found
- keras · Greek · horn
- ops · Greek · face
The name combines "Korea", where the fossil was found, with the Greek words for "horn" and "face", the usual ending for ceratopsian dinosaurs. It means "Korean horned face". It was chosen because this was one of the first ceratopsian dinosaurs described from the Korean Peninsula. The type species is Koreaceratops hwaseongensis, named after Hwaseong city.
