Nomen dubium

Kul horned face

  • Kul · Uzbek/local place name · Kul (a locality/lake in Uzbekistan)
  • ceratops · Greek · horned face

Kulceratops is a ceratopsian dinosaur whose name combines a reference to the locality where its fossils were found in Uzbekistan with the Greek word for "horned face." The prefix "Kul" refers to a geographic feature (a lake or locality) in Central Asia. The suffix "-ceratops" (from Greek "keras," horn, and "ops," face) is commonly used for horned dinosaurs of the ceratopsian group. The name thus means roughly "horned face from Kul."
