Coronosaurus
ko-RO-no-SORE-us /kəˌroʊnoʊˈsɔːrəs/
Accepted genus
crown lizard
- corona · Latin · crown
- sauros · Greek · lizard
Coronosaurus combines the Latin word "corona" (crown) with the Greek "sauros" (lizard), giving "crown lizard". It is a horned dinosaur (a centrosaurine ceratopsid) that was first described as a species of Centrosaurus (C. brinkmani) and later moved to its own genus. I am not certain of the exact reason the authors chose "crown".
