Named after Zuul, the monster from the film Ghostbusters
- Zuul · English (fictional name from Ghostbuster · the Gatekeeper of Gozer, a horned demon-dog from the 1984 film Ghostbusters
Zuul is named after the demon-like creature Zuul, the "Gatekeeper of Gozer" in the 1984 film Ghostbusters. The name was chosen because the animal's skull has prominent horns and a fierce, scowling look that resembled the film's monster. The type species, Zuul crurivastator, means "destroyer of shins", a reference to its heavy, spiked tail club, which could have smashed the legs of predators.
