- dromeus · Greek · runner
Orodromeus means "mountain runner". Horner and Weishampel chose the name because the small, long-legged herbivore was built for running and its fossils were found in the Two Medicine Formation of Montana, in the Rocky Mountain region. The type species is O. makelai, named for Bob Makela, who helped discover the nesting sites. Orodromeus is known from nests and eggs found at the "Egg Mountain" site.
