Musankwa
moo-SAHN-kwah /muˈsɑːnkwɑː/
Accepted genus
boy
- musankwa · Tonga · boy
The name comes from the Tonga word "musankwa", meaning "boy". It was chosen because the animal was a small, early sauropodomorph, and it honours the local language of the Zambezi valley region where it was found. The only known species is Musankwa sanyatiensis, named for the Sanyati area.
