Calamosaurus
KAL-uh-moh-SORE-us /ˌkæləmoʊˈsɔːrəs/
Nomen dubium
reed lizard
- kalamos · Greek · reed
- sauros · Greek · lizard
The name combines the Greek words for "reed" and "lizard". It was chosen because the slender, hollow-walled neck vertebrae of the type specimen were thought to resemble reed stems. The type species, C. foxi, honours the Rev. William Fox, who collected fossils on the Isle of Wight.

A small theropod known from fragmentary remains (neck vertebrae and a possible limb bone). It is usually treated as a doubtful coelurosaur (often considered a nomen dubium). Its exact relationships are uncertain, and some authors have suggested it may be a tyrannosauroid.
