A large theropod. The original fossils were destroyed in the bombing of Munich in 1944, during World War II. Its status is debated. It is often treated as a dubious name because the material is fragmentary and lost. Some authors have suggested it may be related to or synonymous with other large Bahariya theropods such as Carcharodontosaurus. The status given here is the commonly cited one, but opinions differ.
