Agilisaurus
AJ-il-ih-SORE-us /ˌædʒɪlɪˈsɔːrəs/
Accepted genus
agile lizard
- agilis · Latin · agile, nimble
- sauros · Greek · lizard
Agilisaurus combines the Latin "agilis" (agile) with the Greek "sauros" (lizard). Its describer chose the name because the animal's slender build and long hind limbs suggest it was a light, fast-moving runner.
