Jaculinykus
zhak-yoo-LIN-ih-kus /ˌʒækjuˈlɪnɪkəs/
Accepted genus
possibly 'javelin claw' (uncertain)
- jaculum (uncertain) · Latin · dart, javelin
- onyx / nykus (uncertain) · Greek · claw
Jaculinykus is a small, long-legged alvarezsaurid theropod from Mongolia, with a single stout claw on each arm. As best I recall, the name combines a Latin word for a dart or javelin with a Greek word for claw. I am not certain of the exact roots or the reasoning behind the name. The type species is Jaculinykus yaruui.

Valid genus of alvarezsaurid (parvicursorine) theropod dinosaur. I'm unsure of the author, year, exact formation and stage, so those fields are left blank. The etymology roots are given from memory and should be checked against the original description.
