Eoneophron

ee-oh-NEE-oh-fron /ˌiːoʊˈniːoʊfrɒn/

dawn Neophron (probable)

  • eos · Greek · dawn, early
  • Neophron · Greek (genus name) · genus of the Egyptian vulture

The name appears to combine the Greek "eos" (dawn) with Neophron, the genus of the Egyptian vulture. That would make it roughly "dawn Neophron", an "early Neophron". I am not certain of the original naming rationale.

I am not confident about this name. I believe it is a bird-like (avian) taxon rather than a classic non-avian dinosaur, and I could not reliably recall its author, year, age, locality or taxonomic status, so those fields are left blank. Please check a source such as the Paleobiology Database before relying on it.
