Eberhard Fraas's (animal)

- Fraas · German (surname) · Eberhard Fraas, German paleontologist
- -ia · Latin · Latinised name ending
Efraasia honours the German paleontologist Eberhard Fraas, who collected the first fossils of this animal near Stuttgart in the early 1900s. The name is built from his initial "E." and his surname "Fraas", with a Latinised ending. It was coined because the species had earlier been placed in other genera, and Galton gave it a new genus name.
