A sauropod dinosaur; the type species is Lapparentosaurus madagascariensis. It was originally described as Bothriospondylus madagascariensis (Thevenin, 1907). Some researchers have treated it as belonging to Bothriospondylus, but Bothriospondylus is generally regarded as a doubtful name, so Lapparentosaurus is usually kept as a separate genus. The exact age and some details are less certain.
