Jinbeisaurus
jin-bay-SORE-us /ˌdʒɪnbeɪˈsɔːrəs/
"Jinbei lizard" (the first element's exact derivation is uncertain)
- saurus · Greek · lizard
The name ends in the Greek "saurus", meaning "lizard", which is standard for dinosaur genera. The first part, "Jinbei", is probably a Chinese place name, but I can't confirm exactly what it refers to. I'm leaving out the details I'm unsure about.
I'm not certain of the details for this genus. I believe it is a recently named Chinese dinosaur genus, but I can't confirm its author, year, age, locality or current taxonomic status, so I've left those fields blank. Please check against a primary source.
