Diodorus
die-oh-DOR-us /ˌdaɪoʊˈdɔːrəs/
Accepted genus
Based on the Greek name Diodoros ('gift of Zeus')
- Diodoros · Greek · personal name, literally 'gift of Zeus'
Diodorus is a heterodontosaurid ornithischian named from Middle Jurassic rocks of Morocco. The name appears to be taken from the ancient Greek personal name Diodorus (Diodoros), and the species name scytobrachion refers to the Greek writer Dionysius Scytobrachion. I'm not certain of the exact reasoning the authors gave for choosing the names.
